I'm American living in Switzerland and can't stand any American sunscreen--it burns my eyes to no end. I'm going to have to give this one a go next time I'm back in the states!
adhd brain side note -off-on-tangent: who first coined the phrase "sea-captain"? As opposed to lake or river captain, or von trapp (although I think he may have been sea based but of the under-sea tubey variety?)? Is this Daisy-May Coopers long-lasting impact on the maritime community? And what is the difference between a sea-captain and sea-dog? Is it the hat?
My current favourite is the Beauty Pie SPF50 primer. My only gripe is that it stings my eyes a bit, but it's fine provided I put my eye cream on first to act as a dam.
Will definitely try this. Current favourite is the Korean classic Bioré UV Watery Essence which is so light and refreshing. Scented though... but I really love the fragrance
Remembering back to the late 80’s and using an spf factor of 8-10 😳 on our Spanish hols, is quite scary. Nowadays I hate the heat and the sun, I stay indoors with 3 fans blasting away, all blamed heavily on the menopause. A factor 30 is used when and if the fancy takes me to step outside, and that’s a supreme effort in itself 🫤.
The American regulator hasn’t approved hardly any of the actually good really effective chemical ingredients that make sunscreen, you know, sunscreen, as opposed to just lotion. As the company is Australian, my guess is that they have a different version that they sell in the states. We probably have a mineral version (so will definitely leave white residue) or some less effective chemical version.
The one I actually bought in the states (target) appeared to have the same ingredients. Haven’t got that one anymore as used it up ages ago but will check when on laptop! X
Perhaps we can give this post credit for the fact that the holy grail, soft creme gel, SPF is out of stock at US Sephora.

Haha! Probably Daisy May Cooper, yes! That was so funny.

Yes love that one too. I think this might be even fresher though.
YESSSS! It’s so good - AND - the brand make CVS’ own. Their kids range is Naked xx
Ooh do they? Good to know!

Factor 8 was FANCY when I was little and tbh people thought it was a little bit overkill 🤣
You're too young I suspect, to remember the days of factors 2-6, or even none at all...and back when the only sun tan lotion here was Boots Soltan 😯!
It's out of stock now, what have you done Ruth!?
It seems to be out of stock a LOT in the UK, I hope they get it sorted. All of their other products seem to have good stock at all times…

Australian! They make amazing suncare. I don’t think it’s water resistant per se but I didn’t have any problems with it sweating off…
Is this an American brand? Is it sweat resistant? Definitely looks like one to try.
